Melina is a proud member of Plunk Smith’s transactional team who concentrates her practice in the areas of tax, general business and corporate law, with an emphasis on federal tax consulting, planning and compliance services provided to corporations, pass-through entities, and high net worth individuals. Melina has over a decade of experience representing clients in a variety of business matters, including asset protection and management, entity formation, mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, and corporate governance.

As a self-confessed “tax dork,” Melina brings an eye for tax efficiency to every transactional matter she puts her hands on, thereby ensuring her clients are not only conforming with all applicable tax laws, but also maximizing their tax savings. Working with clients across a variety of industries, her goal always remains the same – to provide valuable legal services in a personable manner while helping her clients achieve their objectives.

Melina graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2006 and received her J.D. from Northeastern University in 2010. Thereafter, in further pursuit of her passion for tax law, she went on to receive her LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University in 2011.

Melina and her husband are each sixth generation Texans with two children, both boys and both toddlers, and two dogs who think that they are children. When away from the office, Melina enjoys spending time with her family (including the dogs, of course), gardening, attempting to be crafty, and being outside.
