Justin Dertinger has been with Plunk Smith, PLLC since 2017 and is currently a member of Plunk Smith’s commercial transactions section. Justin’s areas of practice involve assisting businesses in navigating contract drafting and negotiation, developing internal company documents and procedures, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions.
In the past, Justin’s practice focused on complex commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on construction defect litigation, real estate disputes, restrictive covenant litigation, contractual disputes, creditor’s rights and commercial collection matters. Justin’s years of litigation experience provide a focused and efficient approach to his transactional practice. Justin remains admitted to practice before all state courts in Texas, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Eastern, Western and Southern Districts of Texas.
Prior to joining the firm, Justin was an associate at a boutique commercial litigation firm in Dallas, Texas where he managed a large caseload representing a wide variety of businesses and individuals ranging from multi-national companies to local small businesses in various business disputes.
Justin received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and received his J.D. from Baylor Law School. At Baylor Justin was a Merit Scholarship recipient, Dean’s List member, member of the Baylor Law Pro Bono Transactional Team and attended the Academy of the Advocate: School of the Trial.
Justin is an active member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Dallas Bar Association and Texas Aggie Bar Association. In his free time, he and his wife enjoy mountain biking, golfing, collegiate sports and spending time with their two English labs – Steele and Lettie.
