Jamie Modelo practices commercial litigation and assists clients in drafting and negotiating business contracts. Mrs. Modelo’s experience spans all aspects of litigation, from risk assessment through dispute resolution and trial. Mrs. Modelo
leverages her litigation background to provide clients with strategic and practical guidance in both litigation and transactional matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Mrs. Modelo began her legal career representing some of the largest general contractors in the United States in high-exposure construction defect litigation. Her practice focused on defending complex claims involving breach of contract, alleged construction defects, and claims asserted under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act (DTPA). She also has experience litigating issues involving the economic loss rule, contractual risk allocation, and disputes arising from large-scale residential and commercial construction projects. In addition, Mrs. Modelo has extensive experience representing landlords and property owners in premises liability and landlord-tenant litigation under Chapter 92 of the Texas Property Code. She has represented clients in matters involving personal injury claims, habitability disputes, and lease enforcement issues affecting multifamily properties.
Outside the office, Mrs. Modelo loves diving into the Word and just about any dessert from Central Market. She is an aspiring citizen of the world, having traveled to more than 20 countries, is an enthusiastic receiver of mulligans, and enjoys all things al fresco with her husband and daughter.
