Sophia is an immigration attorney at Plunk Smith, where she leads a broad range of immigration matters for businesses and individuals. As a child of Vietnamese refugees and having previously served as an attorney with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a prosecutor with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), she brings both personal empathy and professional expertise to every case. Her practice encompasses family-based visas (such as family petitions, asylum claims, naturalization), employment-based visas (H-1B, EB-5, J-1 waivers, and more), and workplace compliance for employers. She also represents clients in immigration court, handling cases such as bond hearings and removal defense.

Sophia is a graduate of the inaugural class at UNT Dallas College of Law. After earning her degree, she served as a law clerk for two U.S. Magistrate Judges at the Northern District of Texas.

Outside of work, Sophia enjoys cooking, trying new foods, and traveling to new destinations with her husband when they are not home with their cat and dog.
