Trey Torres

Trey joined Plunk Smith in August 2025 as an associate on the firm’s estate planning team. Trey works alongside clients to help structure comprehensive estate plans that maximize tax savings, protect assets, and plan for incapacity or death. He also assists in probate and trust administration matters.

Before joining Plunk Smith, Trey served as a staff attorney and graduate assistant at Baylor Law School, where he gained practical experience in Texas and Delaware entity formation, business structuring, and transactional law. He also conducted ongoing research in contract drafting and estate planning while supporting academic projects at Baylor. As a Fellow of the State Bar of Texas Business Law Section, Trey was a contributing author to a forthcoming annotated model company agreement for closely held Texas limited liability companies. These experiences enable Trey to provide comprehensive guidance on complex estate and business planning matters.

Trey earned his J.D. from Baylor University School of Law, where he graduated with a Special Distinction in Business Planning. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of North Texas, graduating cum laude and earning the Honors College Scholar Award. 

Outside the office, Trey enjoys golfing, cheering on Dallas-based sports teams, and spending time with his wife, their daughter, and their dachshund.
